Green Fees
Visitors are very welcome to share the beautiful West Course at Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club.
The West Course may appear simple on paper, with a par of 68, a yardage of 5,537, no bunkers, and only one par 5, but it presents a far greater challenge than its scorecard suggests. This is a layout that rewards accuracy and smart course management over sheer power. Its undulating terrain, narrow fairways, and tricky elevated greens—such as the 196-yard par-3 2nd—test every part of a golfer’s game.
Despite its modest length, the course has always been held in high regard and has undergone several key developments over the years. Its design, dictated by the need to preserve the protected land it sits on, offers a unique, bunker-free experience that continues to challenge and delight golfers.
Today, the West Course is open to golfers of all handicaps and is especially popular due to its availability, including weekends, for green fee and society play.
Golf writer Frank Pennink once suggested that the West Course could rival the reputation of the Old Course in its own distinct way—a belief that has grown truer with time as more golfers come to appreciate its charm, history, and the deceptively tough test it offers.
NB. Visitors may book tee times up to 21 days in advance.

We also welcome visitors to play 36 holes during the summer months for a day rate of £72

Society Packages
We have availability to host you and your group on weekdays and weekends. All societies have a host for the day that is tasked to make sure your day is a total success and welcome you on arrival.
Our golf team will work with you from enquiry, to build a package that suits your requirements and budget.
The West Course at Royal Ashdown Forest was voted the best course in England under 6,000 yards by Golf World magazine and offers excellent value with packages starting from just £41 pp.
